Said Nyirenda: “Of the three, two are from Dziwe and one from Mbera; these are the people who were kept at the Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre but escaped while their samples were already in the lab at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital.”

According to her, people ought to be alert in all their movements and take all precautionary measures to prevent being infected with Coronavirus.

“A team of nurses and clinicians will do clinical evaluation of those cases to establish if they are mild or severe cases. The tracing team is also conducting contact tracing of the contacts to these cases,” she added.

She further outlined that lab personnel will collect samples of the traced contacts to enable Balaka District Health Office classify them as either symptomatic or asymptomatic.
