Forestry office in Salima district has shown satisfaction over the number of trees that survived during last year’s raining season as the figures indicate that 75% out of 100 survived which is very promising.
Salima district forest officer Adam Jason said he is very happy that Salima District has managed to save more trees in 2017/18 compared to 2016/17.
“The figures are very encouraging despite the challenges faced in due process but we are very much happy with the figures, I think we are the second best district in the country we are proud of that.” Said Jason
Jason further said despite the high temperature and humidity but the forestry office is very much grateful to the communities for the commitment they have shown to make sure that the planted trees should survive.
