Mzomera free from cuffs

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Regional Governor for the North, Mzomera Ngwira (c) and his lawyer, Christon Ghambi (r) walked out of Mzuzu Police Station amid jubilations by his sympathizer sat 12 noon on Friday after meeting bail conditions. 

Thursday evening Mzuzu Resident Magistrate Court granted bail to Ngwira and his other four co-accused persons in a 2016 political violence case in Mzuzu where some Malawi Congress Party (MCP) members were hacked with panga knives and a minibus bus was smashed.

Court ordered Ngwira and his four co-accused to pay K200 000 cash and K500 000 noncash sureties for their blood relations.
