71-YEAR HEAD TEACHER ARRESTED FOR FONDLING A 10-YEAR-OLD

A 71-year-old head teacher at St Augustine Private Primary School in Mchingji, Kennedy Banda is in police custody for indecent assault after it was allegedly discovered that on several occasions he had been forcing a 10-year-old girl to play with his private parts while he did the same to the girl.

This is said to have been happening from the month of April to May this year.

According to Mchinji Police Public Relations Officer, Limbani Mpinganjira, the suspect used to ask the victim to follow him to his office where he would play with the victim’s private parts and ask her to touch him too before giving the little girl K200.

“The victim reported the matter to her parents who later reported to the District Social Welfare Office.

“After receiving reports of the incident, the police immediately arrested the suspect on June 13,” he said.

Banda will appear in court soon to answer the charge of indecent assault contrary to section 137 (1) of the Penal Code.

He hails from Chiwambo Village, Traditional Authority Kalolo in Lilongwe.
