Tough week for UTM- Rejected by BCC

The Blantyre City Council has rejected an application by the United Transformation Movement (UTM) to hold a Political rally at Nyambadwe primary school Ground in Blantyre on grounds that the grouping is not registered political party.

In the letter dated 27 September 2018 sighed by Blantyre chief executive officer Lytton Nkata the rejection comes after the political party registrar refuse to register the political grouping as a political party.

“We regret to inform you that permission is hereby  not granted for the United Transformation Movement  to hold the said political rally on Nyambadwe ground as come to the councils knowledge that you are not registered as a political party.” Leads part of the letter

Face difficult times- Chilima

UTM was refused to register as a political party by parties register on Wednesday after submitting its application on 13 September 2018.

The political grouping public relations officer Chidamti Malunga assured Crs online on Thursday that the legal team is on the ground to settle the predicaments.

Commenting on the matter political Commentator from Livingstonia University said both rejection by register and Blantyre City Council work towards the best interest of UTM.
