Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho blasts German football league officials for hair-raising £8,900 fine after he and team-mate Manuel Akanji are singled out for breaking coronavirus protocols to have HAIR CUT

Jadon Sancho is believed to be furious only he and Manuel Akanji were fined by the German Football League (DFL) after pictures emerged of six Borussia Dortmund players appearing to get haircuts without wearing masks.

After all of the Dortmund stars featured in promotional shots for a celebrity barber, only England winger Sancho and Swiss defender Akanji were singled out and hit with £8,000 (€10,000) fines.

Sancho slammed the decision, tweeting ‘absolute joke DFL,’ though later deleted the post.

The DFL deemed that the Dortmund duo had breached the health and safety guidelines laid out ahead of the Bundesliga’s return following its suspension due to the coronavirus outbreak by having their haircuts while neither they nor the barber wore (PPE).

However, the players and Kakari are understood to have had masks on while having their haircuts but only removed them for the photos.

Sancho and Akanji can challenge the punishments and have five days to raise their objections.
