Eriksen Reveals Why He Snubbed Man Utd

With Christian Eriksen’s move to Inter Milan being one of the biggest deals of the January transfer window, the Denmark star has now revealed why he snubbed Manchester United in favour of a move to Italy.
With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Tottenham Hotspur cashed in on Eriksen by accepting a cut-price offer of about €20 million (R324 million) from Inter Milan in January.
Prior to signing with the Serie A giants, the Denmark international had also been linked with a move to both Real Madrid and Manchester United, and he has now revealed why he turned down the latter.
“For a few years (I was linked to Manchester United), but it was never really likely,” Eriksen told the BBC.
“We did speak to them, of course, and we did hear what was possible and what wasn’t possible. But, in the end, me personally, I wanted a new challenge. To stay in the Premier League would have been an easy solution.
Eriksen made 305 appearances during his six-and-a-half-year stay at Spurs, during which he scored 69 goals and reached the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League final.
