FAM warns of transfer quashing over DTMS non compliance

By Mphatso Sam – Mana.

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) Compliance and Transfer System Manager, Casper Jangale has warned Super League teams to use Domestic Transfer Matching System (DTMS) when making transfers saying the Association would not recognize transfers made outside the system.

He sounded the warning on Monday in an interview with Malawi News Agency (Mana) in Blantyre saying it was a mandate for teams to use the DTMS.

DTMS, which is a domestic version of FIFA’s International Transfer Matching System (ITMS), is an online platform for player transfers and clubs affiliated in the same association while ITMS is for player transfers between two different football associations.

“Negotiations are done outside the system then they have to take those players transferred to their teams into the DTMS. Non-compliance of transfers using DTMS will have no basis, meaning as FAM, we will not recognize those movements of players from one team to the other.

“But the good thing is that our teams know what to do and it is our hope that they will abide by that. We are monitoring the movement of players until the transfer window closes and those not entered into the DTMS will be null and void,” Jangale explained.

He said since the opening of the domestic transfer window, they have not been any transfers recorded on the DTMS adding that international transfers of Malawian players to foreign clubs were completed and used ITMS.

So far Blue Eagles, who are the FISD Challenge Cup Champions, have taken on board their former player who was with Silver Strikers, Mphatso Philemon and Lazarus Deco Nyemera as well as Chifuniro Mpinganjira from the relegated Dwangwa United.

In an interview Blue Eagles Chairperson, Alexander Ngwala said they would use DTMS since they first use manual singing after which the information while be transferred to DTMS

“The process of entering the details of our new signings into the DTMS has started and any time before this week, we will finish the process. But be mindful that we have not finished signing players so after we are done with the signings, the information will be in the DTMS,” he said.
