Leicester winger Harvey Barnes 'emerges as a shock summer transfer target for Liverpool', with Jurgen Klopp impressed with the England U21 star's 'energy and forceful running' during breakthrough season

Harvey Barnes has emerged as a shock transfer target for Premier League champions Liverpool, according to reports.

The Leicester forward has only become a first-team regular for the Foxes this season under Brendan Rodgers.

But The Mirror report that the 22-year-old is a target for Liverpool with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp said to be an admirer of his energy and running power

The England Under-21 international – who has scored seven goals and recorded nine assists from 41 games this season for Leicester – has previously spent time on loan at MK Dons, Barnsley and West Brom.

It was at the West Midlands club that Barnes made an impression and to such an extent that he was recalled by Leicester in the 2019 January transfer window.

Liverpool also find his versatility an attractive quality, with the forward able to play in a variety of positions up front.
