Official: Chelsea Announce Werner

Having already secured the Hakim Ziyech’s signature ahead of next season, Chelsea have now officially announced the signing of RB Leipzig and Germany striker Timo Werner.
The Blues have finally confirmed that the 24-year-old has agreed a transfer from Leipzig, and will link up with his new colleagues in July.
Werner was chased by a number of a top clubs across Europe, including Liverpool, who were forced to pull the plug on their pursuit of the Germany international due to financial reasons.
Speaking about the move, the forward told the Blues’ official website that he is “delighted to be signing for Chelsea, it is a very proud moment for me to be joining this great club.
“I, of course, want to thank RB Leipzig, the club and the fans, for four fantastic years. You will forever be in my heart.
“I look forward to next season with my new teammates, my new manager and, of course, the Chelsea fans. Together we have a very successful future ahead of us.”
Werner, who reportedly cost €53 million (R1 billion), has scored 93 goals and assisted a further 40 strikes in 157 matches for Leipzig.
